2 Posts: The Home Stretch & Jasha's Birthday!

This part of the post was meant to be up a few days ago:
So here is my "34" Week update... although everyone is pretty positive I'm already 35 or even up to 36 and 1/2 weeks pregnant (including my doctor). I should know more this Friday at my next appointment. All the same I'm sticking to my old week to week for consistency's sake.

So this past weekend has been rough. Indeed.
I had to go into the doctor last Friday. Basically, the preceding nights I had woken up in the middle of the night with my back aching so bad... I mean SO BAD. If Josh barely touched it I would cry. Turns out it was my kidneys. I am currently being treating for a UTI, and I'm praying that is all it is. The other theory is.... kidney stone. Yikes. Since my acid reflux has been so bad I have gone a little crazy, some might say excessive with the Tums taking. Well Tums have calcium and too much calcium can mean kidney stones.

Oh vey.
My comfort is in the Lord though. Jasha read to me many verses on suffering as I experienced terrible acid reflux last night. You see Tums has literally been the only thing that has worked for me, but I have had to stop just in case. Although today I am going to get some apple cider vinegar as advised by my friend... so maybe that will help.

But it's all okay because I really feel like I'm in the home stretch.
Still, it's odd not knowing if I am anywhere from 35 to almost 37 weeks though, but I feel Asher is coming soon, and that makes me smile.

This also makes me smile. I woke up today and Jasha looked so precious holding his hands over his heart. He has a beautiful heart.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
& This post is for today:

It's Jasha's 26th Birthday!!!
We already celebrated this past weekend because he works a lot today, but still...
It's his third birthday that I have known him.
Right after we met he turned 24. It was his first birthday as a Christian... and it fell on Easter. :)
So his birthday always makes me think of the beginning of us.

What can I say about Joshua James Farrow?

He is my dream.
He leads me to Jesus. He teaches me.
He holds me.
He's handsome as can be.

I remember when we first liked each other I asked him
"Will you be my best friend forever?" and
he was silent for a minute. I got nervous. Did I say too much?
I knew he was the one, but I wasn't sure if he did.
But then he said... very seriously..."Yes. I will."
He said he knew then he was in love.

I found this poem I wrote for him right after we met. When we lived states apart, and weren't even boyfriend and girlfriend yet.
We have grown so much. I am so proud of him, and can't wait to see him hold Asher.
He is an amazing husband.
I know he will be an amazing Daddy.

So Happy Birthday Jasha!
I am blessed to be your wife, and Ellie.

There Was A You and Me:

Vessels fade, grow weary & old
Hands stretch, wrinkles age... Its all part of life, to live, to strive, to know.
I wasn't looking, but I ran into your arms.
I wasnt looking, I found no fool, no tricks or charm..
There is a forest, I call it home...
It lies on both sides of your perfect little nose.
Eyes of mine, I hold them tight..
Patient days, with a noble fight..&
In the west, I stand, and sing to our great Love
Who sent you ...me, a perfect plan painted from the abyss above...
& As I kiss the stars, I see the moon & dream
Forever His, A lifetime yours.. there was a you and me.

Time

We are but a moment.
I love time, and aging.
I am young today, older tomorrow.
I find this to be beautiful.

I was reading some of my old notes on Facebook. I wrote this poem called: None of It Matters
when I was 18. It was in a moment when I wasn't sure if I would ever met a guy to live up to my dreams. At times in life I think I was rather hopeless when thinking about love, man time has changed things. Praise God.

None of It Matters
Yet & except it all still matters.

How do we even make sense of that?
Close your eyes, and let go. youll never know.

Live in the mystery, you know the first line of the final chapter,
But the ending, and the answers are just too big to comprehend yet.

I went to that party outside my door,
and I didnt care about anyones eyes, so I thought of yours

Feeling my bones growing, but my limbs remain in line.
Earning wrinkles,& it feels rather nice.

My past has one name I care enough to remember.
If the world crumbles, will I ever know yours dear?

Which would be neither here nor there, and pain would be nothing more than beauty,
That first line of that odd chapter, maybe thats enough for me?

No characters, but a king and peasant girl.
Maybe no earthly love, but a perfect one.

It could be rather nice, most certainly more than pleasant.
Who likes the norm much in these common days?

Im not afraid of mysterious ways,
Not anymore.

Yet God delivered to me a prince, and it is he, me and our King all in love...and it never feels like the norm. It feels purposeful. It feels beautiful.

Here is a photo of Joshua and I, first engaged, then married, then married for a year. Everyday growing with him I learn these mysterious lessons of love, our God, and life.

I know its strange but I just got to say I love time.

My Sewing Saturday

Well I did it. I successfully operated a sewing machine.
The class was awesome & I feel much more confident when I think of a sewing now.
Now I am exhausted, and ready for a nap, but very very proud of myself.
 The inside of the bag:
& Me looking very tired, but happy....
In other news the Texas sky is as big as always...

& The hubs cut the beard, it's texture was starting to scratch me a bit...
& while a part of me misses it, the other part of me thinks he is such a major hottie without one.
(Hot with one as well though)

So far it has been quite a lovely day & don't forget tomorrow I am picking a winner for my giveaway!! Hooray

Outfit & Vintage Printables

Rest was accomplished yesterday for sure. Praise God.
I also read a lot of First Samuel (About Samuel to Saul to King David).
Well, I haven't read this book in I would say years, and honestly I don't remember it being this exciting!
Plays out in my head like a movie, very fun to read, and God is revealing so much to me through it as well.

Yesterday we also went out to a show and I decided to do a little "What I Wore" Post...

-Vintage Locket: Gift from Basil The Cat
-Tshirt Dress: Yesstyle
-Vintage Belt: Thrifted
-Boots: Minnetonka

I'll tell you what if I had to wear one brand of shoes for the rest of my life it would be Minnetonkas.
In fact when Joshua and I first met, he was wearing some... & after he told me his testimony
I said, "Are those Minnetonkas?"
Which he replied, "Yes" & boy that's what really won me over...
Just kidding ;)

On another note, how many people here like home decor?
Because I sure do, and the less money I pay while still looking good is the better!

This website is a freesource guide to Vintage Printables.
All you do is look for an image you want, download it to your computer
And either print it yourself, or for higher quality at a print shop.
Then add a vintage frame, and viola.. wall decor.
I grabbed a few images to show you how awesome it is
& believe me there is more from where that came from.

Tell me what you think of the site! And I hope you each have a wonderful day today!

PS- Make sure if you read my blog you become a follower...
within the next two weeks sometime I will be doing my first giveaway post!!!

Beards & Buttons

Today I was thinking about the Hubs.
Some ask me "When is he going to shave?" To which I reply... "Hmmm, I don't really know."
I love Jasha's beard, but I also love when he is clean cut.
It is crazy though how much a shave can change a man.
This is Jasha currently (obviously illustrating a point to me to which now that I think about I don't remember what it was... prob because I was thinking he is so gosh darn handsome):

& This was Jasha back in March:

So Ladies I was just wondering
which way do you swoon...
Beard or No Beard?

I'll tell you I could go either way, it really doesn't matter to me.
What does matter to me is I wish my hair
grew as fast as his beard does.
Man I miss my long locks.
Here is a picture of my longer hair in our engagement pictures...

& Here is my hair now...
To which I say: Grow Hair Grow!

Also, my big sister Elena at Adventures as an Adult
made me some awesome new blog buttons. Please free feel to take them & stop by her blog and & leave some love.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

As I stated in an earlier post, Joshua & I live with another couple from our community group (the lovely Cory & Michelle) until we move to Virginia early next year.  We really love it here even the small space. (Sometimes we can be quite the minimalists... especially the hubs) Anyways I thought I would show you some of my favorite parts of our room...
A precious little thrift find: Weasley's Jesus Lover of My Soul
Our official family bible made in the 70s...Never used... Half Price Books $10.00
A view of our little room from our balcony
Fun mini piano found at Shop Goodwill
Our nativity scene we leave out year around These pictures all show what makes our room feel like home to us. My Question for you is:  What makes your space feel like home to you? I also wanted to show you guys the awesome gift Joshua got me for our one year in August. I had long been wanting a locket. The only jewelry I wear are my wedding rings, but I just thought it would be nice to have something else that was special & this is what I Joshua ending up getting for me:    & I love it sooooo much! Joshua got it from this awesome Etsy store: Basil The Cat
In the end of the day, I just feel so thankful to have such a wonderful husband, and also have someone who I can be completely goofy with me. (As seen below)
Many Blessings & Happy Labor Day! Hope everyone enjoys their day off from work & school!
