26 Weeks & Coat Love.

26 Weeks... oh me oh my.

Actually I am closer to 27 but it has been a long few days.
Unfortunately I was hit with a severe migraine the other day which left me out of commission for a bit. BUT Jasha & I did celebrate our Valentines/ 1 &1/2 year wedding anniversary... with a surprise dinner at a very good Italian restaurant.. yum!
We got dressed up super cute, but by the end of the night I felt like I was going to pop out of my dress so I opted not to take any pictures. Ha ;)

So I have a question all you Mommas out there... I have recently hit a very uncomfortable stage of pregnancy...my lower back is aching... and I mean aching.
My hips also have been hurting pretty bad. I sleep with pillows in between my legs but was/is there anything in particular for any of you which gave you relief concerning these areas? If so I would be delighted to have your input :)

In other news I finally found a winter coat which holds my ever expanding belly. It actually was meant to be more of a winter shrug, but it is very warm & the large fit me wonderfully. I think I am just going to need to lengthen the sleeves a bit.. but still I love it.

Besides all that I wanted to thank you all who have been voting for my blog. I hope you will continue to do so... it is a great way to connect to other Momma bloggers out there.

So In Less Than A Week....

Before our big move to Virginia we should be learning some very exciting news...potentially....
We are having our 20 week ultrasound on the morning of the 4th & should be able to find out the sex.
Now I'm never one to count my chickens (as I frequently like to say)... so
I have it already set in my mind that our little may not want to cooperate and we may not get to find out,
but I really really REALLY hope we do.

When I first found out I was pregnant I was so for sure it was a girl.
Now I have switched to thinking a boy...
but then the next moment I will think... nope, nope girl.

Sigh. Only time will tell...
Still a girl can bookmark for both a boy and girl right?

For a little Mister:

1. Cool Cat Shirt

2. Dad Tattoo Shirt (unisex as well)

3. Tiger Sweater

& A Farmer Jacket

For a little Miss:

1. Checker Dress
'

2. A Fantastic Fox Coat
(way above my price range but a girl can dream)

3. Quemeez Moccasins (again unisex)
source

So until I know the bookmarking will go on.
What is awesome though is since my Momma had three girls she saved everything!
So I have some pretty good vintage loot. My brother was the youngest of us so I also have some little boy things as well but more modern & in a far smaller quantity.

All the same either way I cannot wait to know!
And of course we will share the news right away!
If you don't mind please vote for my blog... it only takes two clicks. Thanks so much

12 Weeks + Outfit Post

Being pregnant is beautiful.
Yeah it's been hard.. health wise. My migraines did not go away like I hoped, and instead they last longer than ever before, but I know it's all worth it.
In this picture I don't look pregnant, but it's ironic because something happened a day after this, and
maybe you will be able to notice in my next belly post, but
my belly had a very very mini pop.
It just looks different.. not super pregnant...but different
 and yall
my belly button looks weird already!
I mean I'm 12 1/2 weeks, c'mon ha.
It looks much flatter, and like it wants to become an outty but is just contemplating it.

Anyways, here is my 12 week belly... or lack of, before the mini pop.

I was all dressed up because Jasha & I went on a lovely double date with our good friends Amber & Todd. It was fancy smancy & so good!
So I decided to do a little outfit post for my date.
What I wore:
-Headband: gifted
-Turtleneck: Forever 21
-Skirt: Old Navy
-Tights: Target
-Boots: Target

I felt rather nice, but by the end of the night, my belly was getting too big for that skirt, and I had to unzip it a bit to feel uncomfortable at the table. I know classy. ;)

& here is my wonderful date and I:
I can't believe in 6-7 (ish) months it won't be just the two of us anymore, but
we are so excited... still we got to soak in this time together.

Style Inspiration

If I had money, I most likely would still be as cheap as I am now, ha ;)
So if I am going to imagine up scenarios, I'll say if Nicole Richie's clothing line, and style was much cheaper
(I'm talking Target/Forever21/Goodwill... since those are my main shops)
then I would have a field day dressing like her.
Then again, I do like a good challenge (sometimes)
and dressing for cheap is one I have always been up for.

Still here are some lovely photos of my biggest style muse.

NICOLE

So my question is whose your style inspiration?
PS- I feel like such a girl talking about clothes, but then again
thank goodness for blogging for venting about silly girl things.

PPS- Make sure you sign up for my giveaway (my last post)

Outfit & Vintage Printables

Rest was accomplished yesterday for sure. Praise God.
I also read a lot of First Samuel (About Samuel to Saul to King David).
Well, I haven't read this book in I would say years, and honestly I don't remember it being this exciting!
Plays out in my head like a movie, very fun to read, and God is revealing so much to me through it as well.

Yesterday we also went out to a show and I decided to do a little "What I Wore" Post...

-Vintage Locket: Gift from Basil The Cat
-Tshirt Dress: Yesstyle
-Vintage Belt: Thrifted
-Boots: Minnetonka

I'll tell you what if I had to wear one brand of shoes for the rest of my life it would be Minnetonkas.
In fact when Joshua and I first met, he was wearing some... & after he told me his testimony
I said, "Are those Minnetonkas?"
Which he replied, "Yes" & boy that's what really won me over...
Just kidding ;)

On another note, how many people here like home decor?
Because I sure do, and the less money I pay while still looking good is the better!

This website is a freesource guide to Vintage Printables.
All you do is look for an image you want, download it to your computer
And either print it yourself, or for higher quality at a print shop.
Then add a vintage frame, and viola.. wall decor.
I grabbed a few images to show you how awesome it is
& believe me there is more from where that came from.

Tell me what you think of the site! And I hope you each have a wonderful day today!

PS- Make sure if you read my blog you become a follower...
within the next two weeks sometime I will be doing my first giveaway post!!!

My View On Clothes

source

I really really enjoy styling when it comes to fashion. I told Jasha, the Hubs, I was going to incorporate more fashion into my blog
& I know him very well, so I already knew what face he would give me...
Let me tell you... The Hubs doesn't care two cents about fashion, so most of the time I dress him.
He of course voiced his concern to me that while he knows I have a good mindset when it comes to dressing I should probably express what I think on here.

(NOTE: These are all my personal viewpoints, and I don't intend to offend anyone with anything I say)

I think for the most part people dress to be noticed, and unfortunately I think our culture has taken this to a very dark place. A few years back, I was young and definitely pushed some barriers when it came to what I wore... whether my top was too low, or my stomach showed too much... I didn't care. & Oh yes, I argued it was not fair that girls couldn't wear two pieces at our youth retreats.

Now that I am older, married, and been in church classes with other newlyweds I feel I have a clearer understanding on lust, and how men battle it. Our culture, of course, does nothing to help them at all... It is all about sex, sex, sex (& not in the way that I believe it should be portrayed)
Then boys show girls they will be noticed if they dress more in align with the culture, & so they do & its a vicious cycle. I think this is an issue because I firmly believe lust can be a killer to true love, which I believe is pure in it's real essence.

Now when I get dressed in the morning I think "Would I want Josh to be around a girl all day who is wearing this outfit?" & I really try to dress modestly, and mature while still being fashion forward.

Lately I've been meditating on 1 Peter 3:3-4 which states:
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

In the end, I just don't want my clothes or fashion to ever be an idol.
(An idol is anything that takes your love & devotion from the Lord)
My love is the Lord, and I want to dress in way that I feel God would think is appropriate, in a way which honors my husband, AND in a way which still expresses my individual style...
Which I feel is all very doable.

With that all said here is another outfit I put together for the fall:
(I usually wear little slips under my dresses, my most recent purchase for one was here)

I hope you all like it!

Home Is Where The Heart Is

As I stated in an earlier post, Joshua & I live with another couple from our community group (the lovely Cory & Michelle) until we move to Virginia early next year.  We really love it here even the small space. (Sometimes we can be quite the minimalists... especially the hubs) Anyways I thought I would show you some of my favorite parts of our room...
A precious little thrift find: Weasley's Jesus Lover of My Soul
Our official family bible made in the 70s...Never used... Half Price Books $10.00
A view of our little room from our balcony
Fun mini piano found at Shop Goodwill
Our nativity scene we leave out year around These pictures all show what makes our room feel like home to us. My Question for you is:  What makes your space feel like home to you? I also wanted to show you guys the awesome gift Joshua got me for our one year in August. I had long been wanting a locket. The only jewelry I wear are my wedding rings, but I just thought it would be nice to have something else that was special & this is what I Joshua ending up getting for me:    & I love it sooooo much! Joshua got it from this awesome Etsy store: Basil The Cat
In the end of the day, I just feel so thankful to have such a wonderful husband, and also have someone who I can be completely goofy with me. (As seen below)
Many Blessings & Happy Labor Day! Hope everyone enjoys their day off from work & school!
