Inspiration Tuesday/Deep Thoughts

Let's Start With Some Deep Thoughts:

(The day after we were engaged)

Jasha & I knew each other for four months when we got married.
We had been engaged for two.
While it was a magical romance... I can say one thing for sure...
We were young.

Age wise I was young... barely 20 when we wed. Jasha was 23.
Still he had only been a Christian for about a week before we met.
But we knew we were made for each other.. that can always make things hard.

Because we got married so quickly we had to deal with things in early marriage that we hadn't laid down to the Lord. To be honest we didn't even know some of those things were buried deep with in us.
The key word of our marriage has been GRACE.
God is so good. He knew we would run together into marriage... He knew we were young.
He knew we needed to learn, and break to be His... for our marriage to be His.
Praise Him.

Now we haven't even been married a year and a half yet, but I can honestly say we have grown up so much from the beginning. When we talk of our early days... we always say something like... wow we were young. And I love that. Its our path. It was at times hard.

Still we even turned down wise counsel from  a few people who said to slow down, and that there was no need to rush. This was good counsel. We're sorry about not listening. Truly, wise counsel is a gift. That's something we have learned as well. Especially being in a city that is a bit of a wilderness to us, and without much counsel...it's a gift, and something to be cherished.

But life can't be lived looking backwards. Thinking about what if?
& My life is beautiful. It's full of grace. I think all life is a work in progress.
Hopefully getting to know the Father more, and shedding our selfish ways.
Beauty in the breakdown right?

With this all said I also want to say
My husband amazes me. I can't even in words say how amazing he is.
All I can say is
 He is something.
Everyday I grow more in love with him. Everyday I am excited to see him grow more and more.

Anyways so my point.. sometimes people tell me they think our story is like a fairy tale and I'll agree I think it is (at least to me anyways ha)
BUT this is always another side.. a human side.
And God is good and loves us humans no matter what.
No matter which way we go. He will always be there to faithfully guide you, to love you, and help you grow in Him, in love and in life.

Sooooo....
This is pretty deep.
I'm pregnant. I'm pretty emotional sometimes. Especially tonight.
BECAUSE...
I think I felt my little one kick!
I really do... a few lil bitty thumps.
After I cried this song came on in my itunes (see below) and it made me think about my life and how much Joshua & I have grown and I just praise God! For our life.... for growth... for His never ending grace. We are so blessed.

It's a pretty awesome song, and the only part that reminds me of us is the "we were young" part.
Still it's awesome, please listen

So concludes my Inspiration Tuesday... I'll count it for my deep thoughts ha ;)

Inspiration Tuesday:

So I am really into it being the Holiday season, and the leaves changing.. although after being in Virginia for a week the Texas leaves do not compare. Still, I love it all the same.
Boots. Sweaters. A slowly getting bigger belly ;)

So here is a wonderful song to curl up by the fire to.
I remember that a few years ago I was really into it, and sang it all the time.. in December.
I was also praying a lot for my future husband at the time.
It was this December that Jasha, who was an atheist at the time, quit his PH D program to go back home to Virginia. This started the chain reaction that lead to him finding the Lord.
This song is dear to me.

And here are some beautiful pictures to warm your heart...

PS-I promise a belly update will come soon.

Shooter at my School

Last night I was sick, all night. I remember I even was frustrated with the Lord because I felt so terrible and I felt my prayers weren't doing anything.

Since I only slept 2 hours I decided at 6am  to skip my 8:00 am class at The University of Texas, where I am a senior (and will be graduating in December). I never skip this class.

I woke up a few hours later at 8:00 am (ish) to hear there was a active shooter at my school. More reports came in that he had shot himself, but no one was hurt, but campus was on lock down. They are currently looking for a second suspect. If I had been there, I would be in lockdown in a classroom right now, and probably much more frazzled than I am now here at home.

Praise God for me getting sick last night.
Praise God no one was injured.
He is good.

Here is my Inspiration Tuesday post that I actually wrote last night when I was sick for today:

I need some inspiration. I'm exhausted, busy, and sick... &thus a tad grumpy to be honest.
This week is just one of those long, everything is happening sort of weeks...

BUT this song, oh this song has gotten me through some
hard times
Its one of my favorites to listen to to remind me of what's important,
and who's important.
I hope yall like it :)

Inspiration Tuesdays

A new feature I am adding to my blog is called Inspiration Tuesdays.
I feel as if Tuesdays sometimes get a bad rap...They are not the dreaded Monday, but they still are seen as rather dreary. Therefore I thought a boost of some inspiration (most likely going to be quotes & bible verses) would give an added little something to Tuesdays.
So let's begin with the first of my...

First up is this pretty little picture.
Yes I'm a hardcore sucker for a nature scene with verses:
I choose this picture because lately I have been realizing the beautiful love that is the word of God.
Even though I have been a true Christian for 7 years now as I grow
I learn more of the gift the bible really is.
I think it can be so poetic, so beautiful and so loving.
This picture really showed all those elements to me.

The second source of Inspiration is also a prayer request for this adorable family.
This is a blog of a woman whom I've never met,
but through Facebook we have some mutual friends. Ha.
Anyways she just had her second child who has a heart condition &
her family is just so solid in their faith.
I suggest you read her first post here: First Post
Then read on: Mathis Miracle Baby

This is her beautiful daughter Sparrow

Well guys I hope you enjoyed the first of what I hope is many Inspiration Tuesdays

PS- I wrote this post yesterday on Monday, and woke up to pouring rain today on Tuesday.
It took an hour for Josh & I to get to Austin (we carpool on Tuesdays/Thursdays) & due to all the rain I missed the beginning of class, so I decided to skip.
We ended up just parking in the lot, and sleeping for an extra hour.
Tuesdays are proving dreary indeed.
Although we both woke from our nap feeling quite refreshed. :)
